Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals stock closes up 5% to $18.83
Arrowhead Pharma, the company that manufactures OxyContin and other opioid painkillers, reported its third-quarter earnings on Friday.
The stock closed up 5.6% to about $18,830.
OxyContin sales surged in the third quarter of 2017, after the drugmaker was accused of fraud by the Justice Department.
Oddly enough, the stock is down in 2018 as of Thursday, and has been in a long downward trend since 2014.OXY has been blamed for at least three deaths in the United States.
The company has been under investigation by the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Oxfam, a non-profit that works to end the opioid epidemic, has said the company has not received the required authorization from the federal government for its OxyContin products.
